ESPN recently published their list of the top 10 quarterbacks entering the 2022 NFL season. One obvious omission was 2019 NFL MVP Lamar Jackson. This of course became a massive talking point across social media and at the water cooler for fans and media alike. One player who clearly vehemently disagrees with the ranking is Jackson's former wide receiver, Marquise Brown.
Brown took to Twitter to share his thoughts.
Facts! The Narrative they tryna create on my dawg is ridiculous, He can run the show in any type of offense he just so happen to be in the one he in and doing it at a top level ! And Every Wr whoever played with him knows that..đ https://t.co/fH8ZUZ2pW9

He tweeted: âFacts! The Narrative they tryna create on my dawg is ridiculous, He can run the show in any type of offense he just so happen to be in the one he in and doing it at a stop level! And Every Wr whoever played with him knows that..â
He's not the only player to come out and have Lamar Jackson's back. ESPN personality Ryan Clark showed his support and disagreed with the ranking, as well as Los Angeles Rams All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
However, not everyone has jumped to Jackson's defense. Former Ravens safety Bernard Pollard has been openly critical of Jackson for a couple of years now. But on Wednesday, things got heated between the two online. Both Pollard and Lamar Jackson traded barbs and insults relating to their game.
Pollard displayed the narrative that receivers don't want to play with Jackson.
No TOP Wr will ever come there while LJ is there. Plenty of WRs have been available to get in the off-season while LJ has been starting, but nobody wants to go. They give him the respect, but they donât want to play with him. LJ is good but heâs not able to make the throws.

That appears to be part of what Hollywood Brown was refuting. Interestingly, Brown left Baltimore this offseason to sign a deal with the Arizona Cardinals. But Jackson had his own retort, calling into question Pollard's own credentials.
You been cappin since I been playing for the ravens I never heard of you tbh my boy you got your Super Bowl cause of ray Lewis and Ed Reed đ€Łđ€Ł that year

Pollard himself has come under scrutiny due to his vocal criticism of Lamar Jackson, and head coach John Harbaugh.
