Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will probably break Michael Vick's rushing record on “Thursday Night Football” and it's something that Vick is ready for. Jackson currently has 1,017 rushing yards this season, which is only 23 yards behind Vick's record for rushing yards in a season.

Vick said he “honestly” didn't think his record would be broken for a long time, but he is happy for Jackson and the Ravens organization.

“It's a cool moment in sports, especially for Lamar and also for the Baltimore Ravens,” Vick told the team's official website. “It's something that everybody can be excited about. Breaking that record, it's something I can honestly say I didn't think I'd see for a long time. When Lamar was coming out of college, we had conversations. I used to tell him, ‘Play your game, be you.' But I couldn't even foresee Lamar doing this so quickly. It shows if you're with the right teammates, the right coaches, the right organization, what can happen.”

Vick has been called the best mobile quarterback in NFL history, but it might not be long before Jackson surpasses him for that title.

The one concern for mobile quarterbacks is always injuries but so far Jackson has been able to avoid the big hits and has stayed on the field.

If Jackson can continue to stay healthy there is a good chance that Jackson could break Vick's record almost every season going forward.

More importantly than the record, Jackson currently has the Ravens in line for home-field advantage in the playoffs.
