There's already ample excitement across the football world about Lamar Jackson. And as the 21-year-old quarterback enters his first NFL offseason, the Baltimore Ravens are certainly doing nothing to quell it. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman threw more fuel on the Jackson fire during a Tuesday press conference, saying the “sky's the limit” for the Ravens' new franchise signal-caller.

“Lamar has a unique skill set,” he said, per Pro Football Talk. “Just like any young guy, he’s gonna develop. As far as him throwing the football, we feel great about it. We saw a lot of improvement last year throughout the season and, really, he’s only going to get better from here.”

Roman also raved about Jackson's mental approach and work ethic, calling the former Heisman trophy winner his own “harshest critic” while stressing he and the team have a “great plan” in place for the offseason. Though Baltimore's offensive coordinator didn't go into further details on the Ravens' blueprint for Jackson's development, backup quarterback Robert Griffin noted to ESPN that it will “naturally come” due to him taking first team reps over the offseason.

Jackson threw for 1,201 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions as a rookie while completing 58.2 percent of his throws, subpar numbers for most starters under a limited sample size. But the Louisville product also rushed for 695 yards and five scores on 4.7 yards per carry, both looming as an imminent scramble threat on called passes and adding a new dimension to the Ravens' offense in old-school running formations.

Baltimore went 6-1 with Jackson as a starter during the regular season, losing in overtime to the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. He completed half of his throws en route to 194 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Ravens' 23-17 playoff loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
