The Baltimore Ravens fell short in the Wild Card round versus the Los Angeles Chargers. However, quarterback Joe Flacco still had high praise for quarterback Lamar Jackson after the game.

Jackson caught some flak for his underwhelming performance. According to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, Flacco is proud of how the rookie responded in the fourth quarter:

“You can’t even go there, man,” Flacco said. “I thought Lamar did a great job of hanging in there and giving us a chance at the end.”

Flacco's comments should come as no surprise. He has shown nothing but class since firmly being replaced as the starter during the final stretch of the 2018 NFL season. The veteran has since spent his time as a backup doing whatever he can to assist Jackson.

It is no secret that the rookie struggled mightily for the first three quarters of the game. At one point, Baltimore even had negative passing yards. There was even speculation that head coach John Harbaugh was ready to bench him for Flacco in the second half. However, he decided to stick with the rookie and it almost panned out. Jackson showed plenty of promise after throwing for 156 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

The season ended much sooner than Baltimore may have wanted. Fortunately, it is clear that they have found their future franchise quarterback in Jackson. Although Flacco's time with the Ravens has officially come to an end, there is no question that he has established a positive legacy with the franchise.
