The Baltimore Ravens' season ended a lot sooner than they would have hoped for after they lost to the Los Angeles Chargers, 23-17. Many Ravens fans were displeased with rookie Lamar Jackson's efforts on Sunday. Baltimore faithful booed the young quarterback late in the game in hopes of seeing Joe Flacco take over.

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith gave his opinion on the matter and sided with the fans after seeing Jackson struggled for most of Sunday's game.

Jackson finally came alive late in the fourth quarter and threw for two touchdowns, both to wide receiver Michael Crabtree. Jackson was the team's leading rusher with 54 yards on nine carries but failed to eclipse 200 yards through the air.

Many Baltimore players stood by Jackson and his efforts, believing he gave the team just as good of a chance at winning as veteran quarterback Joe Flacco would have. The Chargers defense made things incredibly difficult for Jackson on the ground, and they held him to a mere 39 rushing yards back in Week 15 as well. Since taking over the starting job, Jackson had led the Ravens to six victories in seven games after suffering an overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Although Jackson was disappointing this past Sunday, he has been leading the Ravens to victories over some very tough opponents, and Baltimore had lost three straight games prior to Jackson taking over at quarterback. Baltimore appears to be committing to Jackson in the future, and it's clear that Flacco may have played his last season in a Ravens jersey.
