The great Tom Brady officially announced his retirement on Tuesday after 22 illustrious seasons in the NFL. It was definitely a sad day for football fans everywhere as we now look to live on sans TB12.
For his part, however, Brady decided to single out Baltimore Ravens superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson by sending him a daunting challenge on the day of Brady's retirement (h/t Jamison Hensley of ESPN):

Now that he's officially hanging up his boots, it seems that Brady has decided to pass the torch to Jackson with his message here. It's a gargantuan task, no doubt, but Jackson has got to be one of the few quarterbacks in the league who is capable of stepping up with TB now out of the picture.
Brady was responding to Jackson's IG post wherein the Ravens star posted a photo of himself and TB sharing a moment on the field. The GOAT took notice of Jackson's post and he responded with a strong message of his own.
Like all of us, Lamar Jackson is also still trying to process Brady's big decision. It's an undeniably big loss for the world of football, but at this point, we can all only thank Tom Brady for the privilege of having witnessed his epic career over the past two decades.
