Ty Montgomery was one of the players traded ahead of the NFL trade deadline. After fumbling away the Green Bay Packers' chances to defeat the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, the team decided to move on from him quickly. The Baltimore Ravens were happy to trade a seventh-round draft pick to acquire Montgomery from the Packers.

In an interview shared by the Ravens' official website, Montgomery talked about how he is excited for a fresh start and to put the drama in Green Bay behind him.

“I don’t know if I was hoping for a fresh start. I will say I was ready to put all of that in the past. … I don’t want to be rude. I don’t even want to talk about it anymore. If anybody is concerned, my family is safe. I’m not worried about anything.”

Throughout his tenure with the Packers, Ty Montgomery proved that he was a more than capable running back. He isn't going to be the starter for the Ravens, but he will provide solid depth. Montgomery could also earn a role in the return game for Baltimore.

In the seven games that he played with the Packers this season, Montgomery carried the football 26 times for 105 yards and a touchdown. He also caught 15 passes for 170 yards, but did not get into the end zone through the air.

At 25 years old, Montgomery still has plenty of time to turn things around after the fumble. He already seems to be over the mistake, although it will be a valuable learning experience for him moving forward.

The Ravens got a good player for a very discounted price and should be excited to see what kind of impact they can receive from Montgomery.
