The Baltimore Ravens announced that quarterback Lamar Jackson will be the starter once again in Week 13 versus the Atlanta Falcons. That may be the case until quarterback Joe Flacco can show he is fully healthy.

Flacco was finally able to get some practice in this week after being sidelined with a hip injury. According to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, he likely will not return until he can log in a full week of practice:

This will remain case until Flacco is able to get at least full week of practice in. At this point, he hasn’t been on field for 3 1/2 weeks.

The update certainly makes sense for a number of reasons. Flacco had endured his fair share of struggles even before the injury. It would not make much sense for Baltimore to rush him back if he is not 100 percent, especially when the Ravens have managed to pull out two straight wins without him.

However, Flacco's absence could essentially give Jackson another opportunity to solidify his status as the starter moving forward. The rookie has shown plenty of promise in the veteran's stead. He completed 27 of 44 passes for 328 yards, a touchdown, and three interceptions over the last two games. However, he has done most of his damage with his legs after registering 190 yards and a touchdown on 37 carries.

Jackson's versatility has clearly given this offense an added boost that it did not have before. Another strong performance against a porous Falcons defense could very well spell the end of the Flacco era in Baltimore regardless of his health.
