Lamar Jackson continues to prove his doubters dead wrong. He started his 2019 NFL season with an impressive touchdown pass to Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Marquise Brown.

The score helped Baltimore build a big first-half lead against the Miami Dolphins.

Jackson, 22, was a late-first-round selection by the Ravens in the 2018 NFL Draft, first sitting behind veteran quarterback Joe Flacco before an injury to the Super Bowl MVP enabled Jackson to start. Picking up where he left off last season—when Jackson led the Ravens to six wins in seven games, en route to a division title—the Louisville product connected with the rookie wideout Brown on this exquisite 83-yard touchdown.

Jackson, the 2016 Heisman Trophy winner in college football, aired the ball to a sprinting Brown, who hauled in a pass thrown from 55 yards away. The 22-year-old Brown, Baltimore's first-round pick this year from the University of Oklahoma, broke free from coverage, eluding a tackle at his legs for the score.

It was the Ravens' third touchdown of the first quarter, beating up on a poor Miami Dolphins team that appears to be in tank mode.

The Dolphins started veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback, opting not to utilize second-year signal-caller Josh Rosen in Week 1 despite trading for the former 10th pick of the 2018 draft from the Arizona Cardinals.

Lamar Jackson was selected 22 spots behind Rosen, who will have to watch the elusive and dynamic Jackson air out touchdown passes from the sidelines while the Dolphins tank in 2019 for Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa.
