Former Real Madrid center-back Raphael Varane is officially on his way to the Premier League after joining Manchester United on a €41 million deal, with a medical scheduled for Wednesday. This comes just weeks after club legend Sergio Ramos also departed for PSG on a free transfer, but it appears Los Blancos have a much bigger plan in place with their summer activity.

According to Marca, Real Madrid is looking to raise funds for PSG star Kylian Mbappe, who has been linked to the La Liga giants for quite some time. The Frenchman has turned down a brand new deal in Paris, with his current contract expiring in 2022. The Ligue 1 standouts aren't listening to offers for their talisman, but Madrid believes enough coin can lure him away from PSG.

Mbappe is currently rated at €180 million by his club and even if Real Madrid were able to sign him next summer, it wouldn't be cheap by any means given he's one of the best strikers in world football.

Los Blancos shed €15 million by getting rid of Ramos and selling Varane was also a massive step in bolstering their funds. They're not expected to sign any new defenders in the current transfer window either, with David Alaba and Nacho set to replace the aforementioned.

It's also important to note that Gareth Bale's massive contract with Real Madrid is up in 2022, which will certainly help the financial burden. Considering Mbappe has already voiced his desire to play at such a decorated club like Madrid, it's going to be interesting to see if does brings his talents to the Spanish capital in the next 12 months.
