Real Madrid has reportedly joined the race for Chelsea center back Antonio Rudiger. Madrid is ready to sell players to create funds for the potential transfer.

The German center back has been instrumental in Chelsea's defensive line since his arrival from Roma in 2017. With the Blues, Rudiger has won the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup—with hopes of bringing home a Premier League title this year as Chelsea continues their incredible season so far.

Chelsea team boss Thomas Tuchel continues to urge Rudiger to stay at Stamford Bridge, but the German hasn't put pen to paper. With the January transfer window coming up, the center back has been linked to Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, and now, Real Madrid.

Real Madrid is expected to offer Rudiger a hefty $270,000-a-week salary with hopes of luring the Chelsea star to the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, amid heavy speculation surrounding his future at Stamford Bridge, Rudiger broke his silence—making sure to clear the air once and for all.

Discussing the speculation surrounding his future, Rudiger said last week: “The most important thing is that I feel happy here. I think if people look at it, they can see I’m happy. About the contract situation, I talk with the club. This is for nobody’s ears.”

Aside from this, Real Madrid will look to offload players in the next months as well. Gareth Bale, Isco, Marcelo, and Former Chelsea star Eden Hazard, are all expected to leave the club sooner or later to make room for new additions to the club, including heavily sought-after stars Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.
