The main storyline for Trevor Story over the first month of the 2022 season was his enormous struggles at the plate. To make matters worse, the Red Sox were losing games left and right. Story was even boo'd by the Boston faithful.

But the Red Sox new star is turning things around to say the least. In fact, Story is on fire right now.

He has homered four times over the course of his past two games. Story clubbed three home runs in the Red Sox win on Thursday over the Mariners, and he followed that up with a grand slam in their Friday victory over Seattle.

But it was the person who caught his grand slam ball that stole headlines. Former Red Sox star Jonny Gomes happened to be sitting in the Green Monster seats in left field at Fenway Park when Story smashed the homer. Gomes made an impressive snag and was every bit as excited as Story after catching the ball.

MLB Network was able to reach Jonny Gomes following the homer and talked to him about catching Story's grand slam.

What a moment.

Gomes only spent a little over a year with the Red Sox. But he was an important catalyst for their 2013 World Series run. He is remembered for his clutch heroics during that stretch. And now he will be remembered for catching a Trevor Story grand slam ball.

It is a good time to be a Boston sports fan right now. The Red Sox are beginning to play a better brand of baseball and the Celtics are taking on the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals.
