Boston Red Sox star Kike Hernandez is truly having a phenomenal postseason. He lit up the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS and didn't slow down on Friday against the Astros in the ALCS, going 4 for 5 with two homers in a heartbreaking 5-4 loss. Nevertheless, Hernandez made history, doing something that no player has ever pulled off, via ESPN Stats And Info:

To put it into perspective, Hernandez went 1 for 4 in Game 5 of the Division Series and drove in the game-tying run for the Red Sox with a walk-off sacrifice fly. The real damage was done on Friday, though. He absolutely terrorized Houston, clubbing two absolute moonshots and finished just a triple shy of the cycle. Hernandez hit a solo bomb in the top of the ninth to cut the deficit to one run, but it was too little too late. He also made a crucial diving grab early in the game.

There's simply no player left in the postseason who is seeing the ball as the Red Sox outfielder is right now. It hasn't mattered what pitchers throw him, whether it's a fastball or a breaking ball. Hernandez is squaring everything up.

Every single October, there is a player who shines bright and makes a name for themselves on the big stage. Last year, it was Randy Arozarena. This time around, it's Kike Hernandez. Hopefully, he can keep it up and the Red Sox can follow his lead. Keep doing your thing, Kike.
