The Hunter Greene era with the Cincinnati Reds opened up on a promising note, as he led the way in the 6-3 win over the Atlanta Braves.

Greene had quite a task in his MLB debut in going up against the reigning World Series winners. Still, the Reds' No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 MLB Draft showed off his potential over the contest; he logged 5.0 innings pitched, struck out seven batters and allowed three earned runs.

As Greene noted to Bally Sports Cincinnati after the game, the entire experience for him today was quite memorable.

“So special,” Greene said. “Obviously a great place to play, to experience that moment.”

Overall, Greene sees plenty of positives from his first outing in the majors, but the job is far from finished with his development.

“I want to say it was just awesome all the way around, but there's always things that I'm working on,” Greene said.

“As a professional, you're always critiquing yourself, you're always being hard on yourself, but you always gotta step back and look at the positives and what you did right. … You always want to go out there and be the best version of yourself.”

From the 14 swings and misses recorded to the multiple 100-plus mph four-seam fastballs that often overwhelmed Braves hitters, Greene sure had a dynamic MLB debut.
