Mason Foster is a huge part of the Washington Redskins roster, and he is already laying out the praise for first-round draft pick Montez Sweat who should be an impact player right away. Sweat was misdiagnosed with a heart condition at the NFL combine that caused some teams to take him off the board, and it wasn't discovered that is wasn't correct until a few days before the draft.

It's unclear if teams kept them off their boards because of the diagnosis, but before the combine, he was expected to be a top 15 pick.

The Redskins decided to trade back up into the first round and selected Sweat with the 26th overall pick. Foster said he watched Sweat perform at the combine and knew he was a guy he wanted on his squad.

“I remember watching him at the combine,” said Foster on Riggo The Diesel Podcast. “I just watched it on TV, and seeing how much of a freak athlete he was and I was like man, ‘He's going to be special, man.' If he can translate that into playing ball for real — with the coaches we got and people we got in this building, I'm pretty sure the sky is the limit for him.”

Sweat was a stud with the Mississippi State Bulldogs who does a good job of getting off the ball quickly and wreak havoc in the backfield. His game should translate well to the next level, and Foster, Sweat and the rest of the ‘Skins defense is going to be a problem for opposing teams.
