Dwayne Haskins is entering his second season with the Washington Redskins and he is expected to make drastic improvements in 2020. Ahead of his second season, Adrian Peterson made some telling comments on Haskins' upcoming sophomore campaign.

On Thursday, Peterson held a Zoom video call with local media to speak about what he believes Haskins is capable of next season (via Ethan Cadeaux of NBC Sports):

“I want to see him blossom … I'm expecting big things from him.”

Despite being the No. 15 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Haskins didn't win the Redskins starting job during training camp last offseason. He lost out to veteran Case Keenum, who earned the gig over the rookie signal-caller.

While he sat the bench for the majority of the season, Haskins was preparing for a chance to start under center, whenever that might come. After waiting for eight weeks, Haskins would make his first career Redskins start versus the Buffalo Bills in Week 9.

At first, the former Buckeye struggled to get acclimated to the NFL. Fortunately for Haskins, he finished the season strong, throwing for 564 yards, five touchdowns, and just one interception in his final three starts.

Earlier this offseason, there was speculation that the Redskins could draft one of the coveted quarterback prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft. Rather than taking someone to compete with Haskins, Washington took Chase Young with the No. 2 pick.

Seeing that the Redskins didn't select a quarterback, they have confirmed their confidence in Haskins moving forward. And it doesn't hurt that a respected veteran like Peterson has high expectations for Haskins in his second season.
