Just a couple of months ago there were questions if Adrian Peterson would ever be in the NFL again but after a good first week with the Washington Redskins, he is talking about his goals and how he wants to go down as the best player ever to play the game.

“The best player ever to play is my mindset,” Peterson said via ESPN.com. “Being able to sit back and say I had a great time playing the game I love and I won a world championship and I was the best at my position.”

Peterson racked up 96 yards for the Redskins in week one which was good enough to pass Jim Brown for 10th on the NFL's all-time rushing list. Peterson says he still feels good and still thinks he has three or four more years in the league.

“Three to four more years would be ideal,” Peterson said. “Not to say it hasn't been done before, but not at a high level. So of course I plan on playing three to four more years, and I plan on playing those years at a high level as well.”

It was only one game but it looks like there is still a place in this league for Peterson and if he can have a strong season there is no doubt that he should be able to earn another contract next year. Adrian Peterson and the Redksins will play their next game on Sunday afternoon against Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts.
