The Washington Redskins are entering an offseason where little remains the same. Ron Rivera is now the head coach, Bruce Allen is gone, and a youth movement is brewing.

Much of that youth movement resides on the offensive side of the ball. To surround quarterback Dwayne Haskins, the Redskins went out and got a trio of rookie receivers in the 2019 NFL Draft and the undrafted market in Terry McLaurin, Kelvin Harmon, and Steven Sims Jr.

However, the coach for those three young receivers is not yet known, as Rivera is expected to kick out the old staff and replace it with assistants he is more familiar with. One of the greatest receivers of the modern era offers a new, less familiar option: himself.

On Twitter, former six-time Pro Bowler Chad Johnson said he wants to put his name in the ring of consideration to teach the Redskins' young receiving corps.

Johnson, also known as “Ochocinco,” recorded over 11,000 receiving yards and 67 touchdowns in his 11 years as a pro. He earned his money due to his precision footwork and complementary route-running. Johnson could surely teach the youngsters a few things as a coach. The man throwing those receivers passes, Haskins, seems to agree.

Johnson has little coaching experience. His only NFL experience in teaching came in 2016 when he acted as a “guest instructor” for the Cleveland Browns. Could that minimal experience land him a full-time job? Probably not, but it could get him on as an assistant in Washington.

Would you want Chad Johnson coaching your team?
