Derrius Guice left the Washington Redskins' loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday prematurely with a knee injury. The second-year tailback was ruled out after being tackled awkwardly in the second quarter of the tilt.

According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the current belief is that Guice suffered an MCL sprain in the loss. Further testing will indicate if that belief is factual or not.

Guice was gaining momentum during the game. He batted off a 23-yard run when he went down on the field. He stayed on the gridiron — with his teammates surrounding him — before he walked off under his own power.

There is a serious cause for concern pertaining to Guice's injury. An immensely talented second-year back out of LSU, he has failed to stay on the field consistency due to a litter of knee injuries. He has already undergone two knee surgeries in the NFL, including one for an ACL tear that got infected.

Guice tore his ACL in the preseason of 2018. In 2019's season opener, he tore his meniscus. He received surgery and was placed on the injured reserve. The 22-year-old came back to play in Week 11 against the New York Jets.

Before suffering the injury on Sunday, Guice was coming into form in the Redskins' offense. Last week, in a 29-21 win over the Carolina Panthers, he ran for 129 yards and two touchdowns on 10 rush attempts.

Guice did not struggle with injuries while at LSU. However, it's been a far different story since entering the league with Washington.
