The Washington Redskins got off to a slow start versus the Green Bay Packers in Week 14. Unfortunately, it seems things have taken a turn for the worse regarding running back Derrius Guice.

Guice was sidelined during the game after taking a hit to the knee. He has now officially been ruled out for the rest of the road trip in Green Bay, via the team's official website:

The injury to Guice undoubtedly deals a crushing blow to the offense. Unfortunately, it also raises further concerns about his future.

Guice's career has gotten off to a rocky start since being taken in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Although he showed plenty of promise heading into his rookie year, it was over before it ever started after suffering a torn ACL in the preseason opener. As a result, he was forced to sit the entire year while Washington shored up some more depth in the backfield.

Guice was able to take part in the 2019 NFL season opener, however, he was sidelined once again after a torn meniscus landed him on injured reserve. The opted to take a cautious approach with his recovery and used his first few games back to help him find his footing. He appeared to finally be on the cusp of a potential resurgence after enjoying a breakout performance against the Carolina Panthers in Week 13 with 129 yards and two touchdowns on just 10 carries.

Guice is now reportedly dealing with another knee injury that could potentially leave his status for the final stretch of the season in jeopardy.
