Quarterback Dwayne Haskins is ready to prove himself as the leader of the Washington Redskins. Wide receiver Terry McLaurin has been working out with Haskins for the last month and says he has seen a change in the former number two overall pick. McLaurin knows the pressure that Haskins is under, but he thinks he is back to having fun again, which he knows is important.

“Dwayne’s looked great,” McLaurin said, via the team’s website. “He looks really cut up, he’s slimmed down. He’s having fun again I feel like. A lot was thrown at him his first year, and I’m not making any excuses for him at all, but I feel like his focus is great right now physically, mentally. . . . He’s ready to prove himself right and just ready to be the leader and the quarterback that this franchise needs and deserves.”

McClaurin and Haskins were teammates with the Ohio State Buckeyes so he has a good understanding of what he brings to the table. This is a big year for Haskins. Not just for the Redskins' success this season, but also for his future with the team. With Ron Rivera coming in, Haskins has a lot to prove.

Rivera didn't draft Haskins, so if he were to start to struggle again this season, he might not have as long of a leash as he would have had with the last coaching staff.
