The Washington Redskins met with the New York Giants in Week 4. Their game was at MetLife Stadium, home of the Giants. A place that Redskins' left guard, Ereck Flowers, knows all too well.

Flowers was drafted by the Giants back in 2015. He was their first-round pick, going ninth overall. At that time, Flowers was a tackle. Things didn't go well. After struggling mightily, fans quickly turned on him.

After three-and-a-half years with New York, they finally gave up on him. Flowers spent half a season with the Jacksonville Jaguars but fizzled out there too.

Then this offseason, he signed with the Redskins. The plan was to move him to guard. A lot of fans were skeptical, but through four games he's been their best offensive lineman.

However, that hasn't translated to wins for Washington. They're now 0-4 after getting beaten down 24-3 by the Giants. After the game, talked to Darryl Slater of NJ.com about the New York fans – and he didn't mince words.

“Once they get back to losing, the stadium will be back empty,” Flowers told NJ Advance Media. “That’s how I feel about them.”

But he wasn't done there. Not only did he attack the attendance, but he came at the fans and talked about how much he would've loved to leave with a win.

“I don’t care for Giants fans,” he said. “They feel about me how I feel about dentists. I don’t care for this place much. I would’ve loved to have come out of here with a W, but it’s all good.”

“[Expletive], nobody is more happy not to be here than me,” Flowers told a group of reporters. “This has been so much more of an enjoyable experience, man. I’m not looking back at my time there. Being here [with the Giants] for me was just toxic. It was toxic on the field, off the field. It doesn’t fit me.”

Clearly, Flowers is in a much happier place for himself right now. Even with the Redskins 0-4, it's pretty obvious he's just happy to be out of New York.

What's most interesting about this is that he is indeed having a breakout year. It could be from the move in positions (definitely has at least something to do with it). However, it probably doesn't hurt that he's out of a situation that he called “toxic” for himself.

With the way Flowers is playing, the Redskins might want to keep him around for a long time.

That means he should get quite a few shots at beating the Giants in New York. Don't expect this rivalry to die down any time soon.
