The Washington Redskins entered training camp with a three-man battle for their top quarterback spot. Through one preseason game, nothing has been resolved.

That battle is between rookie Dwayne Haskins, and veterans Colt McCoy and Case Keenum.

A lot has definitely gone on in the three-man race and plenty has been learned. Head coach Jay Gruden knows that there's still a lot to evaluate though. According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, Gruden feels “there's more work to be had” at the moment.

In Week 1 of the preseason, Case Keenum got the start, playing the first few possessions. Dwayne Haskins took over for the next couple – with Josh Woodrum ending the game.

Both Keenum and Haskins brought something to the table. Keenum looked sharp for the most part and Haskins looked great if you overlook the two interceptions.

However, this didn't really resolve any issues. As Gruden pointed out, there's still a lot that needs to be done before the Redskins make a decision.

With that in mind, this is probably a battle you shouldn't expect to see resolved over the next week or something. It's probably something that will leak all the way into the last preseason game.

All three candidates have a solid case for the starting role and it would be wise of Jay Gruden and the Redskins to let them prove it in their play before making a final decision.

Whatever decision is made in the end, you can guarantee everyone will have been given a chance to prove their worth. Jay Gruden is making sure of that.
