The Washington Redskins will have a new look offense in 2019 with quarterback Dwayne Haskins and running back Derrius Guice in the mix. However, a semi-new face in Trey Quinn will be there as well.

Quinn was selected with the final pick in the 2018 NFL Draft – Mr. Irrelevant. However, he only appeared in three games last season due to injury. In those games, the wide receiver looked great – catching nine passes on 10 targets for 75 yards and a touchdown.

It appears Quinn's still impressing as according to JP Finlay of NBC Sports, head coach Jay Gruden and veteran quarterback Case Keenum have high praise for the receiver.

“Trey Quinn has taken over the inside slot role,” Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said during minicamp.
”He’s confident, he’s quick, he’s got strong hands, he’s physical, [and] he’s tough.”

“Trey Quinn is going to be really special,” Keenum said during minicamp.

That's not light praise. Keenum has been around the NFL for a few years now – he knows talented receivers when he sees them.

Gruden, on the other hand, is basically announcing Quinn as the starting slot receiver as of right now. Of course, things could change before the start of the season – but for now, it appears to be Quinn.

Anyone that watched the Redskins last season probably won't be that surprised by this news. Fans have been excited about him literally since he was draft. Things only intensified as he looked great all offseason last year.

Once again, things intensified once Quinn looked great in his time (albeit limited time) on the field in regular season games.

Clearly, the players and coaches feel the same way about him. Quinn could be an elite slot receiver in the NFL – and the Redskins seem to realize it.
