Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed has been one of the most frustrating players to own in fantasy football due to his oft-injured body, but it’s more disappointing to his real team—and to himself, of course.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Reed lamented his nagging hamstring injury that has caused him to miss the team’s last two against the Seattle Seahawks and the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9 and 10.

Per Liz Clarke of The Washington Post:

“It’s frustrating, man,” Reed told reporters after sitting out Thursday’s practice at Redskins Park. “It’s right up there with all the other [injury-shortened] seasons. All I can focus on now is today and doing what I got to do, so when I come back, I can try to finish strong.”

Reed’s availability in this coming Sunday’s road game against the New Orleans Saints is up in the air, but based on what he told reporters, it seems as though he’s about to miss his third-straight contest and fourth overall this season.

Reed classified himself Thursday at “day-to-day,” explaining: “Last week we had a little setback, so this week we’re trying to do things the right way and just take it slow and make sure I’m healthy before I get out there.”

It’s not an encouraging quote from Reed with regards to his immediate status, but the Redskins need him to be back as soon as possible. Washington is just 4-5 and is playing catch up in the NFC playoff race.

In the event that Reed misses another game, the Redskins will heavily showcase veteran tight end Vernon Davis. Davis has been having success in lieu of Reed lately, as the 33-year-old tight end totaled 148 receiving yards on 13 receptions the last two games.

Reed, who has yet to play 16 games in a season since being drafted in 2013, only has 213 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
