Michael Crabtree used to have a much-publicized rivalry with Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman back when the Oakland Raiders wide receiver was still with the San Francisco 49ers. Crabtree may have just found another adversary in the form of Washington Redskins corner Josh Norman.

Following the Redskins’ convincing 27-10 win at home over Oakland on Sunday, Norman spoke to reporters inside the Washington’ locker room and didn’t mince words as he spoke of Crabtree, whom he dominated in the matchup, as well as Amari Cooper.

“I mean, first and foremost, you don’t come up in here and say what you’re going to put up on somebody. Two hundred yards? (Crabtree) didn’t catch two balls. He only caught one, huh? So please, whatever you do, do not run your mouth if you’re a wide receiver and expect to show up on Sundays, because I’m telling you, we are here and we are waiting.

Norman also included Amari Cooper in his diatribe and further dismissed Crabtree.

“So whatever that young cat said, Coop, go and take it back,” Norman said. “Crabtree? I have nothing to say to you.

Norman has every right to rip Crabtree. He was fantastic in helping the Redskins limit the Raiders’ passing attack, with Derek Carr only recording 118 passing yards. Oakland entered Sunday’s contest averaging 240 passing yards in the previous two games. As for Crabtree, he only had seven receiving yards on just one catch, mostly because Norman was all over him the whole time.

That’s the kind of performance the Redskins expect of Norman after signing the 29-year-old cornerback to a five-year, $75 million deal last year.
