The free agency market was packed with a good number of top-caliber safeties. One of them was New York Giants standout Landon Collins, who earned his third-straight Pro Bowl nod after finishing the 2018 season with over 95 tackles out of the secondary for the fourth-consecutive year.

Earlier this week, reports came out that Collins agreed to sign with the Washington Redskins. This means that the former ‘Bama standout will square off against his former team twice in the upcoming regular season.

NFL Network's Kimberly Jones shared a tweet about Collins' take on facing his old team. The hard-hitting safety stated that he's excited to prove a point that the Giants should've placed the franchise tag on him.

The division rivalry between New York and Washington sure could use some new heat heading into the 2019 season. In seasons prior, it was Odell Beckham Jr. and Josh Norman who were beefing it out before their animosity for one another started to lose steam.

Now that OBJ is on the Cleveland Browns and Norman has relatively kept quiet from his trash-talking ways, perhaps the salt coming from Collins will spice up this rivalry in the NFC East once again.

Last season, the Redskins had a middle-of-the-pack defense that struggled to find consistency on the field. With a superstar safety in Collins now on board, the team is now in good position to take over a volatile NFC East crowd that has crowned a different division champion each season for the past 14 years.

Washington won its most recent division title in 2015.
