The Washington Redskins are coming off a terrible 2019. It's understandable if the general atmosphere surrounding the team is anything but pleasant. Ron Rivera is aware of this and will do everything to make sure the locker room is sorted out by training camp next season.

The discord between the players and the front office is one of the reasons why the Redskins pushed to get Rivera signed. Longtime football writer Peter King says Washington's new head coach will be able to bridge the gap and turn the Redskins into a respectable football team once more.

“Ron Rivera, if he senses that’s happening, he will not stand for it,” King said of a potentially divided Redskins locker room, according to NBC Sports’ Ethan Cadeaux. “He will not stand for a divided organization. That will not last.”

Rivera is a respected figure through the football community for how he managed to transform the Carolina Panthers into one of the most respected teams in the 2010s. While he wasn't able to get Cam Newton and the Panthers a much-deserved Super Bowl title, it's known throughout the community that he's a man who gets things done properly.

Rivera will have one heck of a cleaning job to do at Washington. The last time they made it past the Wild Card was in 2005. They have not sustained a winning record since 2015. If the Redskins give Rivera the time he needs, he should be able to turn this team around to play better football games.
