Stop me if you've heard this one before. The Washington Redskins need a quarterback. They have a specific solution in mind – Josh Rosen.

It's worth noting that Josh Rosen hasn't been made available. The Arizona Cardinals have let it be known that Rosen is their quarterback heading into 2019.

That being said, many believe this not to be the case. There are reports that with the number one pick in the draft quarterback Kyler Murray could be the target of the team.

If that's the case, there would be absolutely no reason to keep their first round pick from last draft on the team.

Due to that, this is a major “if.”

The Redskins could definitely use a young quarterback to try and make the face of their franchise. However, at 15th overall, they may not get the quarterbacks in the draft that they want. So they may need to look in other places for a solution.

Rosen just turned 22, so he would still be a quarterback they could build around and turn into their franchise quarterback for well over a decade.

However, another question that could come into play would be the price tag. Rosen was a first round pick last season and showed flashed of promise in his rookie season. He also did so playing behind a miserable offensive line with minimal weapons.

On the flip side though, Rosen didn't look like the quarterback many had speculated before the draft. His stock has definitely dropped at least a little since this time last season. If the Cardinals are asking for a first-rounder, the Redskins would probably balk on the trade.

If Washington can get Rosen for something like a third-rounder though, the trade talks could get serious fast.

It should be noted that the Redskins have simply “talked” about the idea. That doesn't mean they've decided to trade for him. It could just be a discussion of what they would consider giving up for him and what they would refuse.

At the moment, none of this means much. To everyone's knowledge, Josh Rosen is still the quarterback of the future for the Arizona Cardinals. The Washington Redskins won't have a chance to even consider a trade for him if the Cardinals don't make him available.
