In the last few days, former Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant has made headlines again this time voicing his interest in possibly playing for the Washington Redskins.

The team has since made it clear that there isn't any significant interest in bringing Bryant on board, which echoed even louder through the decision to re-sign veteran wide receiver Brian Quick instead.

Quick had spent last year with the Redskins where he played in 11 games recording six catches on eight targets for 76 receiving yards. He had been afloat in the free agent market since the beginning of the offseason, and the decision to bring him back has brought more depth to the position on the roster.

This move shows that there isn't any substantial interest in signing Bryant as it appears that it is solely one way as this is the second time that he has stated publicly that he would like to play for the Redskins, which would give him the chance to play the Dallas Cowboys twice a year.

This is yet another hatchet to Bryant's efforts to get back into the league as he hasn't been able to garner a deal with any team up to this point. There was initially some interest from the Baltimore Ravens, who offered him a multi-year deal but he turned it down. He had also spoken to the Cleveland Browns before the start of the season that resulted in a visit to their practice facility. There simply hasn't been a scenario to Bryant's liking that had pushed him to ink a deal to get back in the league.

The 29-year-old still has much to offer on the field as he has proven to be a reliable receiving option that is a legitimate red zone target. What this signals more than anything else is that the Redskins can be crossed off the list as a potential landing spot.
