As star left tackle Trent Williams continues his very silent hold out that is now five weeks into the season, it doesn't seem that there is much for him to come back too.

Per NBC Sports' Jay Finlay, Williams vowed never to play for the Redskins again and has publicly stated that he wants out of Washington. The front office, however, seems intent on keeping the disgruntled Williams even though the two's relationship is strained.

Being one of the best offensive linemen in football and earning a nod to the Pro Bowl for the past seven straight seasons, Williams holds a ton of value that the Redskins are refusing to cash in.

It seems entirely possible that Williams would rather retire than play another down in a Washington uniform. This problem stems from the fact that he no longer trusts the Redskins' medical staff and the front office after a medical scare regarding a growth on Williams' head.

While the Redskins would love to have Williams protecting Dwayne Haskins whenever they decide he is ready to take over the reins of the offense, but he might not be around then. Washington has done a horrible job in trying to fix this problem as they have dug their heels even deeper against a player who feels he has nothing to lose by sitting out.

Williams is not afraid of the fines and voided salary that come with his holdout as he had made around $100 million in his career already. Washington will have to make a decision soon about what they plan on doing with Williams being that their current strategy had failed so far.
