Free-agent wide receiver Robby Anderson is bound to drum up significant interest as one of the best pass-catchers currently on the market. However, according to Connor Hughes of The Athletic, the Washington Redskins are not very interested in signing the 26-year-old wideout.

No one’s heard of any team making a legitimate run at him. No one’s heard of any type of salary coming his way. I even connected a few dots of my own. I knew of one team that failed to sign Amari Cooper and also missed out on trading for Stefon Diggs. Naturally, they’d be an option for Anderson, the top target on the open market. Right?

“He’s not someone we’re interested in right now,” Hughes' source said.

Anderson is coming off a season where he caught 52 balls for 779 yards and five touchdowns for the New York Jets. The former Temple star stands at 6-foot-3 and has surpassed 700 yards in each of the last three seasons, but the Redskins reportedly remain unimpressed.

Regardless of their interest in Anderson, the Redskins desperately need help at receiver. Other than 2019 rookie Terry McLaurin, no other player on the team has recorded more than 378 receiving yards or four receiving touchdowns.

Washington's pass attack was so bad last season that the team ranked dead last in the NFL in both passing yards and points scored per game, all while coming in at 28th when it comes to passing touchdowns.

If the Redskins are dead set on not signing Robby Anderson, they still have free agent receivers such as Breshad Perriman, Nelson Agholor and Devin Funchess to choose from.
