Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson is 34 years old, but he hasn't lost a step, and he proved that again on Thursday night. On his first touch of the preseason against the Cincinnati Bengals, Peterson took a handoff and immediately cut it outside, got to the edge.

Being preseason some guys would have just went out of bounds but Peterson cut it back inside and took a little contact before going down.

The view below from the end zone shows just how impressive the jump cut was that allowed him to get outside for the big gain.

He did carry the ball three more times before trading his helmet in for a ballcap for the rest of the game. Peterson has had quite a career revival with the Redskins, and although he might not have as big of a role this year, the hope is he can still be a big part of the offense.

Last season he rushed 251 times for 1,042 yards and seven touchdowns and this offseason he signed a deal that keeps him in Washington for two more years.

The big question surrounding the Redskins this offseason has been who will be the guy handing the ball off to Peterson and after two preseason games, they don't seem to be any closer to an answer.

Peterson said earlier this week that he thinks it's Colt McCoy's job to lose, but he has missed the first two games with injury so that could cost him the job.

“I feel like Colt, obviously, has the edge because he has the knowledge and ability as well,” Peterson said via Washington Post. “He’s been shown to have a really strong arm and been consistent as well.”
