The Miami Dolphins sure are good at this tanking thing. They had an opportunity to beat the Washington Redskins with a 2-point conversion with seconds left on the clock … until running back Kenyan Drake dropped the screen pass:

By dropping the pass, the Dolphins left with a 0-5 record, and Washington now sits at 1-5. However, despite their box score and record, Miami may have been the real winners of the competition. Why? The Dolphins — though they won't say it — are tanking. Beating their tanking foes, Washington, would've hurt their shot to win in the 2020 NFL Draft.

In the end, the Dolphins are “Tank Bowl 2019” champions. Their loss will only help them get better in the future, because they aren't exactly looking to have an excellent present. Come April, Drake's drop may be looked at as the reason why they end up with a certain pick in the draft.
