One of the more iconic player basketball shoes is Shaquille O'Neal‘s “Shaq Attaq” with Reebok back in the 1990s. It was inspired by his dominance and vicious dunks he threw down during the early days of his career, where he even shattered some backboards.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of his signature kicks, the shoe and apparel company has made a remixed version of it, which has a modern design and uses modern materials. O'Neal took to his Twitter account recently and proudly showed off the new version of the iconic footwear.

The Hall-of-Famer was even seen sporting them when he played a pick-up game last week, and it definitely looked like it was made for him.

The changes and updates made on it were discussed by Aaron Williams of Uproxx.com, where he gave a detailed explanation of the materials used in making them.

“The original leather that constituted the upper has been replaced with a woven mesh to help reduce the overall weight of the shoe while keeping the original silhouette intact. A foam compound comprises the collar, with net mesh overlay to provide padding around the ankles, and of course the iconic Pump technology returns for an adjustable fit. Hot melt is used throughout in place of stitching, bringing together the technical lightweight synthetics on the upper. The shoe might look like its prototypical forebear, but it’s built to stand up to rigors of the modern game, which is faster, tougher, and more technically advanced than the days when Shaq Fu was dunking rival centers into oblivion.”

The “Shaq Attaq” Modern has already been released and is now available in the market with a reasonable retail price of $159.99, which should give O'Neal's fans more reason to purchase their own pair.
