Remy Martin, one of the best guards in all of college basketball, is leaving the Arizona State Sun Devils and entering the transfer portal. This can't be undercut: This is absolutely huge news in the realm of college hoops.

The news hit the mean streets of Twitter thanks to a delightful ESPN reporter.

A two-time All Pac-12 first team member who averaged 19.1 points per game in each of the last two seasons, Remy Martin is the rare transfer who can — and likely will — drastically shift the landscape of the entire sport next season. Obviously, that depends on what program he ultimately decides to commit to.

While this is a gut-punch to the Arizona State Sun Devils, as he is the program's best player, he will become another team's player that could help put them over the top.

This is rather late in the transfer portal game. Given that, it's probably safe to assume the California native has a place already in mind. Only time will tell where that place ends up being, but I wouldn't expect it to take too long before a college basketball loving nation finds out.

Remy Martin can play both guards sports, create offense for himself, is a 35% shooter from beyond the arc, and is a fringe NBA-level talent. So yeah, he's good and important. At the time of this writing, no schools have been linked to the one man, but rumors are starting to swirl.
