Sometimes, trade talks are a one-way street.

The Boston Celtics emerged as a potential destination for Philadelphia 76ers center Jahlil Okafor earlier this week. The 76ers are reportedly shopping the second-year big man since their frontcourt is getting pretty crowded.

The knowledge that Okafor is pretty expendable for Philly, and the fact that Boston already acquired Al Horford this summer, may all add up to making this deal something that's not going to happen.

Keith Pompey of Philly.com writes:

Word out of Boston is that the Celtics will not give up much for the 6-foot-11, 257-pounder.

They have concerns about his playing in the city after being involved in two street fights there in the early hours of Thanksgiving morning. Nor do they like the fact that the center saw a gun pointed at his head in Old City and that he was stopped for going 108 mph over the Ben Franklin Bridge.

Okafor averaged 17.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game last season. He shot just 50.8 percent from the field for the tanking Sixers, and ran into some trouble off the court. He does a lot of the same things Horford does, so while just 20 years old, all of this may add up to the Celtics not being too interested.

Boston is going to be involved in trade rumors until they run out of assets, which doesn't appear to be any time soon. The same can be said for Philly, who will surely entertain ways to flip one of its young bigs for some more perimeter talent.
