Following the blockbuster trade-in-terms that will send L.A. Clippers floor general Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets, there could be another perennial All-Star soon to follow.

Carmelo Anthony could reach a buyout with the New York Knicks in the wake of Phil Jackson's firing, allowing him to join the newly-stacked Clutch City roster by the time free agency begins, according to ESPN's Stephen A. Smith via NBC's Fletcher Mackel.

ESPN's Jeff Goodman consequently reported that Rockets general manager Daryl Morey is indeed not done making moves and will look to add a third star to the team in order to compete with the defending champions Golden State Warriors.

Anthony's potential arrival in Houston can give the Rockets an intimidating 1-2-3 punch that will let him be the scoring load he's been through his entire career, surrounded by two capable playmakers in Paul and MVP candidate James Harden, who led the league in assists last season.

The West is loading up for another coalition of talent and Morey has shown to be aggressive in the offseason, days away from landing the best-available point guard of this 2017 free agent class and potentially a scoring machine in his own right in Anthony.
