Houston Rockets center Clint Capela was diagnosed with a broken fibula and is expected to miss six weeks with the injury, according to Fox 26's Mark Berman.

The big man suffered the injury during the second quarter of Saturday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, exiting with a 5-of-5 night for 10 points and four rebounds.

The injury was first reported to be merely a bruise, but upon further examination turned out to be a full-on fracture.

“I will be okay. It happens,” said an optimistic Capela. “So now I'm just focused on the treatment, rehab stuff.  I think I can be back pretty soon. The doctor, he said like a month and then after that it depends on how I am dealing with the pain. I'm just focused on trying to reduce the pain as much as I can. I'm pretty sure it's going to be less than six weeks.”

The Swiss international had put up great numbers as a defensive anchor of the team, averaging 11.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks through 28 games for the Rockets.

“Of course it's tough, but I'm trying to be positive about it,” said Capela of his injury. “I'm just going to try to work on my body to try to come back stronger. I'm saying it will be fine and just keep working hard and just listen to what the doctors tell me to do. I just hope to be back as soon as possible.”

Either Nene or Montrezl Harrell are expected to replace Capela at center, though no announcement has been made as of yet.
