The Los Angeles Clippers are locked into the fourth seed in the Western Conference, and there's essentially no reason to play their starters except to keep their rhythm and consistency on the floor.

With that being said, there's little reason to play the big name players. According to Ben Bolch of the LA Times, Chris Paul, J.J. Redick, DeAndre Jordan, Blake Griffin, and Wesley Johnson are all not making the trip to Utah as head coach Doc Rivers has elected to rest them.

From the Clippers perspective, this is a good game to rest. However, resting their stars all but ensures a win for the Utah Jazz.

The Jazz are just one game ahead of the Houston Rockets in the standings, and a win would certainly put a dent in the Rocket's playoff hopes. The Rockets eliminated the Clippers in last year's postseason, so although they won't admit it, they're likely sticking it to the Rockets. Houston has a relatively easily schedule, but they'll have to win all of their remaining games and hope that Dallas or Utah loses a couple games as well.
