Free agent point guard George Hill has agreed to terms on a three-year, $57 million deal with the Sacramento Kings, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.

Hill had recently been in talks with the Los Angeles Lakers on a possible one-year deal, but the Kings — who have been aggressively pursuing free agents this offseason — doled out the years and salary necessary for him to make the move.

The move comes hours after free agent Darren Collison chose to sign with the Indiana Pacers after three seasons in Sacramento.

The 6-foot-3 point guard had been the victim of a thin free agent market and hung around until the right offer came his way, now boasting a $19 million per-year salary.

Hill could serve as an excellent mentor to young rookie De'Aaron Fox, who the Kings took with the fifth overall pick in this year's NBA Draft.

The IUPUI standout had his best scoring season in his lone season with the Utah Jazz, posting 16.9 points, 4.2 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per game. Hill shot a blistering 47.7 percent from the field, along with a 40.3 percent from deep, and 80.1 from the line — making him an all-around threat on the court.
