The 2017 NFL season has been rough for the New York Giants. The once-perennial playoff team has yet to win a game this season and the trend continued in Week 5 with another loss and Odell Beckham Jr. potentially done for the year.

According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN, Beckham fractured his ankle on Sunday and surgery is required to repair the injury.

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.suffered a fractured ankle during Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, according to the team.

A source told ESPN that Beckham will undergo surgery to repair the injury.

Even with Beckham on the field, the Giants have struggled to break through and become that team that many believed they would this season. New York made a point of it to upgrade the receiving corps to take the pressure off Beckham with the addition of Brandon Marshall, but it just hasn't worked thus far.

Now Eli Manning and company will have to adjust without Beckham once again and Marshall might also miss some time as he went down with an ankle sprain in the loss to the Chargers. New York lost four wide receivers to injury in Week 5 with Sterling Shepard also suffering ankle sprain and Dwayne Harris fracturing his foot.

Needless to say, things continue to get worse for New York as they try to get back on track under head coach Ben Mcadoo.
