After turning professional in Lithuania back on December 11, LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball's contracts with Vytautas Prienu have now been guaranteed for the remainder of the season. The development was reported by Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports, which does not come as a complete surprise with the success the two have had in their stint with the team so far.

“As expected, LaMelo and LiAngelo Ball are in Lithuania to stay. Lithuanian club Vytautas Prienu will exercise contract guarantee options for LaMelo and LiAngelo this month, as the sides have committed to the remainder of the season through June, sources told Yahoo Sports.”

The younger brothers of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball saw their playing time increased in first division games having showcased their skill sets during the Big Baller Brand Challenge, where Vytautas went up against five different second-tier teams. LiAngelo is averaging 10.3 points, including 40 percent shooting from beyond the arc in 15.6 minutes, while LaMelo is producing 6.3 points and two assists and 12.1 minutes per game so far in the season.

Now armed with guaranteed contracts, it will be interesting how the brothers will perform in the coming months as they continue their preparation for the NBA. With the amount of attention they are already getting right now because of their games, their projections for the draft will be intriguing, but it's also not a certainty that they have boosted their stocks as well knowing that the competition in Lithuania is different in the NCAA where most of the top prospects are currently playing.
