The Los Angeles Lakers are on the lookout for a new head coach and they may be looking at two familiar names to fill the void.

After firing Byron Scott on Sunday, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports the Lakers could be looking at Golden State Warriors assistant Luke Walton and ESPN analyst Jeff Van Gundy. Two other possible head coaching candidates are Connecticut Huskies basketball coach Kevin Ollie and San Antonio Spurs assistant Ettore Messina, according to Wojnarowski.

With Tom Thibodeau and Scott Brooks now off of the market, the two biggest names available are Walton and Van Gundy. Walton seems the more likely of the two considering his past connection to the Lakers. The 36-year-old was drafted by Los Angeles in 2003 and was a member of the organization until being traded during the 2011-12 season.

Van Gundy hasn't coached in the NBA since being fired by the Houston Rockets in 2007. It remains to be seen if he will even leave his cushy job as ESPN in order to return to the grind of being a head coach.

The Lakers seem to have a wish list set up for their head coaching search. Unlike the past three offseasons in free agency, Lakers nation will hope their organization won't whiff on the search for a new man on the sidelines.
