The Atlanta Hawks have agreed to sign free agent point guard Quinn Cook, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.

The partially guaranteed two-year deal will likely mean Cook needs a good showing in training camp to make the final roster, otherwise he should be spending most of next season in the G-League.

The Duke graduate has only played 14 games in his NBA career, appearing in all of those last season with the Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans.

In the D-League, he was an All-Star in his first season in 2015-16 with the Canton Charge, posting averages of 19.6 points, 5.4 assists and 38.2 percent shooting from 3-point land. He was even better last year, averaging 26.0 points and 6.7 assists while hitting 37.2 percent from three.

The 24-year-old hasn't gotten much of a chance yet at the next level, but the Hawks are currently in rebuilding mode after seeing the final pieces of their 60-win team from a few years ago flee this summer.

Cook may get a chance to crack the rotation one day and serve as a backup to Dennis Schroder, who has the keys to the offense now and will need to break out for the Hawks to avoid the lottery next season.
