Free agent forward Rudy Gay is slated to meet with the L.A. Clippers on Monday, as one of the two teams in his schedule, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

Having inked Blake Griffin to a massive five-year, $173 million contract, the Clippers will need another scoring force to attempt to match last season's offensive output.

With Chris Paul and J.J. Redick gone to different franchises, the bulk of the scoring load now rests on Griffin's Herculean shoulders, but he'll need some help at the wing in order to do so effectively.

Gay has been the product of three seasons of utter discontent with the Sacramento Kings, a scenario he's looking to put behind him and spark his career back to his early prominence.

The Connecticut standout put up 18.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.9 blocks in 30 games for the Kings last season, before his campaign was cut short by a season-ending achilles injury.

Gay shot a solid 45.5 percent from the field, 37.2 percent from the three-point line, and 85.5 percent from the line. His defensive prowess and long wingspan, even at 30 years of age, makes him a definite upgrade from starter Luc Mbah a Moute, without losing any of the defensive prowess at the wing.
