On Wednesday night, the Golden State Warriors finished off the Houston Rockets with ease despite the absence of Stephen Curry. Now, they're hoping they won't have to be without him for that much longer.

Shortly after Curry missed the second half of Game 4 with a knee injury, MRI results showed that he had a knee sprain that would keep him out for at least two weeks before a re-evaluation.

Apparently, they may re-examine his status sooner than expected.

According to Marc Spears of ESPN, Curry is already starting to feel better, and the new plan is to test his knee on the court sometime next week.

Even though Golden State's official press release stated that they'd wait two weeks to give Curry's knee another look, GM Bob Myers stated that it wasn't a precise timeline.

“We said two weeks, but that's no guarantee that it will be in two weeks,” Myers said. “It might be after two weeks. It might be before. I think it will be somewhere in that range.”

Defeating the Rockets so easily without Curry is one thing; winning a second round series without him is another.

The Clippers were dealt a much more crushing blow, losing both Chris Paul and Blake Griffin for the remainder of the playoffs. That's opened the door for the Portland Trail Blazers to advance, as they hold a 3-2 series lead.

Portland has given the Warriors fits in the past, so bringing back Steph at full strength will be of the utmost importance as Golden State gets deeper and deeper into their postseason run.
