Free agent forward Taj Gibson has agreed to a two-year, $28 million deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.

Now boasting a stellar al-around starting lineup with Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns and the recent additions of Jimmy Butler and Jeff Teague, the Wolves are going all-in by adding a tenacious rebounder who doesn’t need the ball in his hands to make his presence felt on the court.

Gibson has built a reputation in the league for his energy on the court and his inspired effort at the defensive end, making him a perfect fit for a star-studded lineup, now reunited with head coach Tom Thibodeau during this season.

The 32-year-old spent his first seven-and-a-half seasons with the Chicago Bulls before being shipped to the Oklahoma City Thunder for the last 23 games of the season, flourishing despite a more diminished role.

The USC standout averaged 10.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks per game through 78 games between the Bulls and the Thunder.
