The Minnesota Timberwolves have all the parameters of a potential Jimmy Butler trade that they can make, but the organization still hasn't agreed to trade the disgruntled star, according to Darren Wolfson of 1500 ESPN.

Butler reportedly prefers to play for the Miami Heat, and Minnesota has had dialogue with Miami. Per Wolfson, Miami has made players like Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside available. The Heat are still reluctant to move guard Josh Richardson and big man Bam Adebayo.

“Is Goran Dragic available? Yeah, the Wolves could acquire Goran Dragic,” Wolfson said. “Is Hassan Whiteside available? Yeah, the Wolves could acquire Hassan Whiteside. Miami is not willing to move Josh Richardson. Some league people thought yeah, at the end, Pat Riley would make him available when you have the chance to acquire a star like Jimmy Butler. But so far, as of Oct. 2nd, no sense whatsoever that Miami is making Josh Richardson available. Same goes for Bam Adebayo.”

The Houston Rockets are also aggressively trying to acquire Butler, who is a four-time All-Star and has averaged at least 20 points per game four seasons in a row. If the Timberwolves were to send Butler to Houston, Eric Gordon and forward P.J. Tucker are possible names coming back.

When this whole Jimmy Butler saga began, the LA Clippers were reportedly Butler's preferred destination. The Clippers are still very interested in the 29-year-old. Any deal would likely have to include Tobias Harris, Patrick Beverley, and multiple draft picks.

There have been conflicting reports as to whether the Milwaukee Bucks are pursuing Butler, who played his college ball at Marquette. Wolfson is reporting the Bucks are willing to move Eric Bledsoe and Malcolm Brogdon, but won't include Khris Middleton. That trade wouldn't make much sense for the Timberwolves considering they have Jeff Teague, Derrick Rose and Tyus Jones on the roster.
