As a 17-year NBA veteran, Richard Jefferson probably doesn't have the highest opinion of referees. In the past, he's aired his frustrations with NBA officiating. Jefferson is now a popular media personality known for his understanding of the league and sense of humor, making him the perfect candidate for antics. His latest gimmick will come Monday night, as Jefferson will referee the second quarter of the Knicks-Blazers NBA Summer League game.

Per NBA Communications, Richard Jefferson has attended daily NBA Officiating meetings in Vegas to prepare for the game. After, he will join the game's halftime broadcast to share is experiences on the court.

Officiating is one of the most controversial subjects in the NBA. Jefferson is an NBA champion and has had a long time to develop a stubborn opinion on league officials. With athletic, young players and 10 individual fouls permitted, Jefferson will have to hustle to keep up with the game.

Richard Jefferson, who was once an athletic forward in the league, can certainly keep up for one quarter. It will be more interesting to see how much of the rules and regulations the 42-year-old will be able to enforce effectively.
